Before you buy.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. I'm not a coder. You never open the code — Claude writes and runs it. You describe what you want in plain words, like you'd brief a human editor.
Do I need to know video editing?
No. You need taste — knowing what you like. The spec carries the editing rules (where to cut, what earns a graphic, safe zones, sound levels) so Claude applies them for you.
What do I need to run it?
Claude Code, which needs a paid Claude plan (the free chat can't install software). A Windows 10/11 PC or a Mac with about 15 GB free. An NVIDIA graphics card is optional — it makes transcription much faster, but everything works without one.
Does it work on Mac?
Yes. The spec has install steps for both. Mine runs on Windows natively — no Linux or WSL needed.
What does it cost after I buy it?
Every tool in the stack is free and open-source, and rendering happens on your own computer. Your only ongoing cost is your Claude plan. AI-generated B-roll is optional; if you connect an image service, the spec makes Claude quote the cost and wait for your yes first.
Will my videos look like yours?
No — they'll look like yours. Claude interviews you for your colours, fonts and caption style, and you can teach it a style from any reference Reel. The spec copies how good edits are built, not anyone's look.
Is this a course?
No videos to watch. It's a build spec: a PDF written for Claude, so the AI does the setup and follows the rules on every edit. You read the parts you're curious about.
Does it actually work?
Every frame in the "Edited by this system" section above is from my real Reels. Results depend on your footage and on Claude, so you'll still direct and approve — but the spec is built to get you a first draft you'd actually post.
